Kuki referendum draft eyes state split

A draft referendum ballot has been proposed by the Kuki-Zo tribe in Manipur to decide on creating a Union Territory from Manipur’s hill districts, directly governed by the Centre. The Kuki-Zo Council has withdrawn an indefinite shutdown following a youth's death in a clash with security forces.
