Chakmas to PM: Help stop attacks on ethnic minorities in Bangladesh

Thirteen Chakma organisations in Mizoram have appealed to PM Narendra Modi to intervene against attacks on indigenous ethnic minorities in Bangladesh's Chittagong Hill Tracts. The memorandum reported recent violence, including nine deaths and many left homeless, following a peaceful march demanding constitutional recognition of indigenous rights and implementation of a 1997 peace accord.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter
