NC to contest 51, Congress 32 as allies finalize seat-sharing deal

The National Conference (NC) and Congress finalized a seat-sharing arrangement for the J&K assembly elections. NC will contest 51 seats, Congress 32, with additional seats for CPM and J&K National Panthers Party. The elections will be held over three phases from September 18 to October 1, 2023. Negotiations were challenging but concluded successfully after daylong discussions.
