EC defers Haryana polls to October 5, counting October 8

The Election Commission has rescheduled the Haryana polling date to October 5 to accommodate the Bishnoi community's annual pilgrimage, moving the counting date to October 8. Originally, polling was to be held on October 1. The decision ensures that Bishnoi voters participating in their traditional festival in Rajasthan can still vote.
