MP cites 'national security' to deny information on cheetahs

Madhya Pradesh govt has rejected an RTI application seeking correspondences related to ‘Project Cheetah’, citing concerns over “national security, sovereignty, and integrity of India”. Wildlife activists aren’t amused. What does cheetah management have to do with national security or sovereignty, they wonder. Activist Ajay Dubey had filed the RTI plea for details about the cheetah reintroduction project, particularly how they are being cared for at Kuno Wildlife Sanctuary in Sheopur district and the plans for a second home at Gandhi Wildlife Sanctuary in Mandsaur district.
