Tricolour hoisted in Maoist dens of Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra

Republic Day was celebrated with the unfurling of the Tricolour for the first time in nine Chhattisgarh tribal villages in the Bastar region, which were previously under Maoist influence. Similar celebrations occurred in a remote hamlet in Maharashtra's Gadchiroli. In Gadchiroli, an elderly couple, defying Maoist reprisals, proudly raised the flag as a message to the insurgents.
