Code.org sues Byju’s company WhiteHat Jr in US court

In a fresh setback for troubled edtech startup Byju's, Code.org, a US-based non-profit organisation and educational website has sued Byju’s subsidiary WhiteHat Jr in a California district court over payment dues. The case was filed on December 1, the court’s website showed. Byju’s had acquired WhiteHat Jr in a $300 million deal in 2020. It is understood that WhiteHat Jr had reached an agreement with Code.org to pay $4 million over four years to licence its (Code.org’s) coding education platform.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled that apprehending armed militants qualifies as an "encounter" for reservation benefits for police personnel's children.
