Exodus from border villages worrying: Amit Shah

Union Home Minister Amit Shah attended the 62nd Raising Day function of the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) in Dehradun. During the event, Shah emphasized the development of villages along the India-China border. He stated that the migration of residents from these border villages is a major issue and a challenge for the ITBP. The government has raised the budget for border areas to Rs 12,000 crore from Rs 4,000 crore in 2014 and aims to ensure road connectivity to 168 border villages within a year. The ITBP will also act as the nodal agency for development works in these villages.
