Have to release editors' devices, Delhi court tells cops

A Delhi court has rejected the plea of the Delhi Police against the release of electronic devices seized from the editors of news portal 'The Wire'. It stated that if the press is not allowed to function freely, it will cause serious harm to India's democracy. It also noted that the continuous seizure of the devices by the police was causing undue hardship to the editors and impinging upon their fundamental rights of freedom of profession and expression.
