Bengal minister tells court he needs medical aid, then faints

Bengal minister Jyoti Priya Mallick was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with an alleged ration pilferage scam. Mallick, accused of refusing to cooperate in the investigation, collapsed and vomited when produced in court. He was admitted to a private hospital after being remanded in ED custody. Mallick claimed to be a victim of a political conspiracy by the BJP and Suvendu Adhikari. The ED alleged that the prime accused transferred money to companies linked to Mallick's family.
