Govt to help kids rowing to school; Bombay HC takes note

The Bombay high court’s Aurangabad bench has taken suo motu cognisance of the TOI report and converted it into a PIL to be heard on September 4. In a double-booster, officials from the state education department have reached out to the villagers to work out a solution. The residents described it as the first such initiative ever.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled that apprehending armed militants qualifies as an "encounter" for reservation benefits for police personnel's children.
