SC to hear objection to court deciding on legalising same-sex marriage today

The decision of CJI D Y Chandrachud-led bench came on a day when the Centre 's challenge was joined by the governments of BJP-governed Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat in what seems to signal transformation of the pushback against SC's decision to take it upon itself to determine whether same-sex unions can be put on the same legal footing as heterosexual marriages into a full-scale resistance.
