PM Modi holds meet over formation of govts in 4 states

Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting at his residence with senior BJP leaders about government formation in the four states where the party won the recent assembly polls. Although it has been 10 days since results were declared, the party had put the government formation exercise on hold due to “holastak”, a phase not considered good for a new work as per the Hindu astronomical calendar.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled that apprehending armed militants qualifies as an "encounter" for reservation benefits for police personnel's children.
