Farm stir ‘hero’ held in Patiala for referendum link

Police in Patiala have arrested 28-year-old Jagmeet Singh, who became popular during the farmers agitation for not moving in the face of Haryana Police’s water cannons, and two others for allegedly campaigning for banner outfit SFJ’s Referendum 2020 and appealing to the masses to vote online for it.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter
