First cricket game in India was in Gujarat

Historical records reveal that the gentlemen’s game was first played in India on the western coast of the country, in the port town of Cambay, in the beginning of the 18th century. Cambay, now Khambhat, was the port nearest to Gujarat’s capital city of Ahmedabad.
