Watch: Driver drives off with traffic cop on bonnet

FIR has been registered against the driver of a black SUV after he drove off with a traffic cop seated on the vehicle bonnet in Mumbai. The cop had asked him to halt for driving in the wrong direction. According to the FIR, traffic constable Vijaysinh Gurav was on duty under the Azad Nagar metro station at Andheri West. Around 11 am, he spotted a black SUV moving in the wrong direction on JP Road. Gurav gestured at the motorist steering the SUV to halt. But the motorist flashed an identity card and claimed he was a mediaperson. He tried to flee from the spot at which Gurav climbed onto the vehicle's bonnet. Gurav assumed the motorist would finally step out and he would be able to challan him. But the motorist tried to drive away with the constable still seated on the bonnet. A case of rash driving, endangering lives and obstructing a public servant from discharging his duty has been registered under provisions of the IPC and Motor Vehicles Act.
