Pak home to 12 foreign terrorist organisations: CRS report

US officials have identified Pakistan as a base of operations or target for numerous armed and non state terrorist groups, some of which have existed since 1980s, Congressional Research Service said in a report. The report said that these groups can be broadly categorised into five types - globally-oriented, Afghanistan oriented, India-and Kashmir-oriented, domestically oriented and Sectarian.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter

The Punjab and Haryana High Court has ruled that apprehending armed militants qualifies as an "encounter" for reservation benefits for police personnel's children.
