Covid: 41,649 new cases, 593 deaths in last 24 hours

India reported 41,649 new Covid cases on Saturday, a drop of over 2,500 from yesterday's figure. The active caseload has gone up to 4,08,920, or 1.29 per cent of the total cases. Another 593 deaths have taken the country's cumulative toll in the pandemic to 423,810. 101,698,166 people have been fully vaccinated with two doses of the vaccine. Another 35,98,20,313 have received one dose.

HC: Treat arrest, even without exchange of fire, as encounter
